An Updo, Elegante!!

First things first: Heyyy boo!!!

I sure did miss you this week! Wooordd! It's been a long week, but I'm finally back in full swing! To kick us off, I thought I'd take you behind the scenes of my graduation week - hairstyles, event, cuisines, hauls.. all the hullabaloo of moving continents! Stay tuned for fun snippets this week!

Let's get to today's post, shall we?

While I've admitted, severally, to being a lazy natural, I do enjoy working an updo from time to time. Simplicity is always name of my game. And that's what this style is about: an elegantly simple hairstyle that I wore a few days ago for a graduation-week dinner.

Needless to say, the humidity has been reeddddiiccc!! After my 4th natural hair anniversary big reveal, my hair did not stay straight for more than two days! It began to get puffy - and unevenly so. My nape was the most affected while my crown stayed rather straight. I blame midnight summer sweats!

NAPE IS SHRUUNNKKK!!!

MY CROWN AND NAPE ARE DIFFERENT LENGTHS DUE TO SHRINKAGE. GOTTA LOVE IT!

I love this style for two main reasons:

1. It's chic and feminine. Rolled up pompadours and buns are my some of my favorite do's!

2. It's a protective style. Protective styles keep our ends tucked away - this in turn allows us to save our delicate tresses from moisture loss and mechanical damage.

Let's get to it! This is a video tutorial on how I achieved this style. Check out my Youtube Channel (@cravingyellow) for more vids!!

And of course, some shots of the process..! :-)

That's about it! I hope you've been well these last few days! I sure did miss ya!!!!

Love and sunshine!

Tabitha.
