How To Tie A Turban Like Erykah Badu!!

Hey Boos and Beaus!

Happy hump day!! Hope you are trudging through this week victoriously! I'm doing welllstt! (That's another one of my favorite made up terms. Remember fantabulous?! Am I the only one around here who makes up their own words?

Anyway, I digress. This post here is a series of step-by-step pictorials on how to do an Erykah Badu turban/ bun. Shall we begin?

First things first: Props to Erykah Badu for her fierce turbans! Le Sigh! Such a queen!

Now let's attempt to achieve such greatness!

*Gulp*

Step one: Tie your hair in a bun.

If you still have a TWA or a short fro, simply brush your hair away from your face and towards the center of your crown.

Step 2: Grab a scarf/ piece of kitenge cloth/ African fabric.

Tada! Level one achieved!

Go ahead and step out  looking fierce, I'm sure you'll get your mates chattering about what a diva you are! Hhaha!

You can finish off here, or proceed onto even greater Badu Queen-dom!

Step 3: Grab another scarf.

It can be the same color as your first one. I chose this pink one because I love how it contrasts my yellow sweater. Feel free to color clash like a Kamba if you want! It's never that serious, humor yourself! :)

TA-DA! Badu Queen-dom awaits!

Turbans are a wonderful way to:

1. Protective Style. They keep your strands tucked away from the elements. For added protection, wear your satin bonnet beneath your first scarf.

2. Deep Condition on the go. Trussst me, lots of divas be walking around with coconut-oil-under-a-plastic-shower-cap-under-a-turban! Yes, naturals are versatile babes!

3. Spruce up your look. This is especially if you're feeling artsy fartsy and fierce!

As always, thanks for stopping by!
