Ultra Black Hair Products Review!!

Heya Pretty!

Hoping that your week has been bearable! I am super excited to be doing a product review yet again, it's been a while and a minute and then a little while more!

Today's products came to me all the way from Ghana!! Yep! Feyi was kind enough to send me these products for a review!!!! Thanks Feyi!

About Ultra Black Hair:

The Founder of Ultra Black Hair Products is a lady called Cathy Howse. She's written three books on Black hair: Ultra Black Hair Growth Book (1st & 2nd Edition) and the other book is "Thinning Edges". (PS-Check out my last book review here! )She is a single mother and the only one amongst her siblings to graduate from college. (PS- How phenomenal! Go Cathy!)

UBH is Black-owned and was first started as a publishing company for books on Black haircare.  The company finally started UBH products in Cathy's Kitchen when Black women in America started asking her what the solutions to the problems in her first book were.

About UBH Products:

I received all 4 UBH Products: Cleansing Shampoo, Deep Conditioner, Silk Spray and Satin Creme.

1.  UBH Cleansing Shampoo is sulfate free, pH balanced, paraben free. It also contains avocado oil, jojoba seed oil, green tea extract, bee pollen extract, and sea kelp extract.

2. UBH Deep Conditioner helps to strengthen and moisturize damaged hair. It contains aloe vera gel, stearic acid, safflower seed oil, sweet almond oil, coconut oil & peppermint oil.

3. UBH Silky Spray is a moisturiser in liquid form. It also detangles & softens hair. This product has lots of silicones so its perfect when using heat (flat irons or curling irons). If your loves silicones, this product is definitely for you.

4. UBH Satin Creme Moisturizer imparts essential moisture and oils to soften dry hair. It has a non-greasy formula, so it can be used for daily maintenance. Ingredients include: purified water, sweet almond oil, stearyl alcohol and vitamin E.

My Experience So Far:

I washed my hair with UBH Cleansing Shampoo and then applied the Deep Conditioner for 10 minutes. I found the cleansing shampoo very astringent. My hair felt kinda "hard" i.e. it had a lot of friction rather than a lot of slip. This is mainly because it is formulated to be a cleansing agent. On the spectrum on hair cleansers, this is definitely a deep cleansing shampoo so I'd probably use it once every 6 or so weeks to remove build-up. It didn't leave my hair feeling stripped though, my hair just felt squeaky clean.

UBH Deep Conditioner was pure heaven! It has menthol - so it left a tingling sensation on my scalp. Very very refreshing! It also smells amazing! The boo was like, "mmm you smell nice!" Oh shucks - BLUSH mode was reealll!

I lightly misted my hair with UBH Silk Spray Moisturizer and my hair felt fine. I'm weary of silicones because I feel that they coat my hair and weigh it down. My fine strands are super duper fragile. If you have more coarse hair, you might enjoy this product. (Read more about hair texture here).

I capped it all off with UBH Satin Creme Moisturizer. This product is verryy light and fast absorbing. It really left my hair feeling light. I'd recommend this for naturalists with a greasy scalp. A little goes a long way with this one.

Will I be using Ultra Black Hair Products in my weekly regimen?

Absolutely! These products are great supplements to my staples. They are also animal cruelty free and paraben free. They are not all-natural. They have stabilizers as they are shelf-stored (rather than refrigerated) products. All in all, I am rather impressed by Ultra Black Hair Products!
